Clay tablet found at Phaistos with undescipherable Minoan writing in a spiral pattern. Herakleion Archeological Museum - The Linear A signs represent people, animals and plants and appear on both sides of the clay tablet.
Discovered at the palace site of Phaistos, on the south coast of Crete, in 1908, in an underground temple depository. The site was apparently destroyed by an earthquake, probably associated with the Santorini eruption which brought an end to the Minoan civilization.
